International Quit & Win 2006 Smoking Cessation Competition
Uses NicCheck To Confirm Smoking Cessation

The International Quit&Win 2006, a world wide smoking cessation competition, has chosen NicCheck once again to be the test they used to confirm smoking cessation.

Wed Mar 01 2006 Mossman Associates, Inc. announced today that the International Quit & Win 2006, a world wide smoking cessation competition, has chosen NicCheck I once again to be the test they used to confirm smoking cessation. The program which takes place every 2 years is sponsored by National Public Health Institute, KTL of Helsinki, Finland in collaboration with WHO (WHO/HQ/NPH). Quit&Win is a "Practical Collaboration For Global Tobacco Cessation" and a cost-effective way to reduce smoking among the population. The international experience shows that Quit&Win can easily be implemented in different populations and cultures.

All contestants had smoked daily for at least one year and are 18 years of age or older. The contestants are required to abstain from smoking for at least four weeks, which is verified with a urine test among the winners. The test chosen once again is NicCheck.

Quit & Win has rapidly grown in popularity as a practical international smoking cessation activity. Quit&Win began in 1994 with just 13 countries participating. Since then, the competition has taken place internationally every two years. For more information please visit http://www.quitandwin.org/portal/en/news/?id=52

Donald Mossman, President of Mossman Associates is quoted as saying "We are pleased to be involved with this important project once again and we dedicate 2006 to becoming more involved with smoking cessation projects in general. We have seen how our test can be used to enable doctors and eventually the smoker themselves to better determine the amount of Nicotine Replacement Therapy they require and also how the test can be used as a positive reinforcement tool in this difficult process. We feel strongly that the addition of NicCheck to the tools currently available will be an aid in the successful completion of anyone s smoking cessation efforts".

Dutch Cancer Society Using NicCheck to Confirm Smoking Cessation

"The Dutch Cancer Society is annually organizing a Quit & Win campaign. In May 2005, 3.695 smokers quit smoking in the Netherlands. Participants could win €1.000, if they quit smoking for at least a month. In order to check if the potential winners truly quit smoking during this period, we used NicCheck to confirm if they indeed were smoke free after a month."

Wed Jun 08 2005, Blackstone, Massachusetts- Mossman Associates Inc. is pleased to announce that their NicCheckTM is being used by The Dutch Cancer Society for their annual Quit and Win Campaign.

Quit & Win is a practical, cost-effective evidence-based smoking cessation method for population-wide public health use. The International Quit&Win Campaign, originally organized in the framework of the WHO/CINDI program, is now an international network supported by the WHO and organized by The National Public Health Institute, KTL, Helsinki Finland. Quit&Win has proven to have the capability to reach more smokers and at a lower cost than most smoking cessation interventions. It has also proven to be applicable to different cultures. The success of the Quit&Win campaigns are assessed by standardized evaluation procedures, and follow-up studies have shown that after one year, on an average 20 % of the participants have remained tobacco free.

This stop-smoking-contest is conducted worldwide every two years by The National Public Health Institute, KTL, Helsinki Finland, however in the Netherlands there will be a contest every year organized under the same rules and conditions as the parent contest and overseen by The Dutch Cancer Society.

Ingrid van den Berg from the Dutch Cancer Society is quoted as saying,
"The Dutch Cancer Society is annually organizing a Quit&Win campaign. In May 2005, 3.695 smokers quit smoking in the Netherlands. Participants could win €1.000, if they quit smoking for at least a month. In order to check if the potential winners truly quit smoking during this period, we used NicCheck to confirm if they indeed were smoke free after a month."

"We are proud to be able to contribute to a program designed to help those people trying to quit smoking, to ultimately succeed. Our NicCheck product can effectively be used to monitor a person's nicotine consumption as they reduce their dependence, as well as, to verify total cessation", notes Donald Mossman, President of Mossman Associates Inc.

More information on the contest can be reviewed at www.quitenwin.nl or http://www.quitandwin.org/fi/content/sisallot/contact/03links?C:D=54583&C:selres=54583 for the worldwide contest.

Blackstone, Massachusetts; February 8, 2005 - Mossman Associates of Blackstone, Massachusetts, USA and Nanjing Potomac Biotechnology Co. Ltd of Nanjing City, People's Republic of China announced today that the Chinese government has approved Nanjing Potomac Bio-technology 's Protein Chip diagnostic kit for the identification of IgG antibody to Mycobacterium Tuberculosis.

Nanjing Potomac Biotechnology Co. Ltd. is a company focused on the development and manufacturer of Bio-Chips and Chip Scanner within China. They produce several protein chips as well as gene-chips for various purposes, all utilizing the same scanner plate-format for interpreting the results. This particular Bio-Chip test consists of incubating patient sample with antigen coated membrane and with the use of colloidal gold as a tag identifies TB infection when used in conjunction with the chip scanner. This is the first product in the form of a Bio- chip for TB detection approved by Chinese Government and is planned for use by the People's Republic of China's Disease Control Center, The Administration of Inspection and Quarantine, as well as hospitals.
